The "business double" room is worth it for the space and the delightful bay-window sea view
Thon Hotels seem to be a chain of solid nice mid-range hotels in Norway catering to a mix of tourists and business travelers. This one is nicely located in a charming part of the town. We booked the "business double" room which gets you not only extra space, but a lovely bay window that looks over the little marina and lighthouse, and was quite a delight. The room was clean and comfortable, and thoughtfully efficient. The breakfast buffet was good, and included a special section of gluten-free products which made my celiac husband happy. (They even had a dedicated toaster.) Underground parking was available for a fee, and included some EV charging stations on the Mer network (one of the major Norwegian charging station networks).
No complaints - very happy here.

Lovey stay in Alesund
Great location, wonderful view, nice and clean room. The staff were helpful and accommodating, breakfast was great.
The room was a bit dark for my taste, the hotel parking was a nightmare, very very tight so be careful with your car.

A very nice stay in a beautiful city.
The hotel is located by the water, with great view. The room is large, nice, and comfortable. The breakfast is very good. It's walking distance to many city attractions and bus stops. Very interesting and beautiful buildings nearby. Also there is a city sauna booth and a kayak station right next to the hotel. I would come back to this hotel if I visit this city again in the future.
As with most hotels in Norway, the price is high.
